Exploring the musical possibilities of solo acoustic guitar has been a long term distraction for guitarist and composer Mark Thomson. From haunting pieces influenced by a love of traditional Scottish and Irish music to blues and jazz tinged melodies and on to more experimental compositions which blend a range of musical influences, the consistent thread is a focus on memorable compositions supported by finely honed technique, rather than pointless demonstrations of technical prowess just to prove a point.
